We are a church where faith meets legacy and fresh purpose. For generations, we’ve been rooted at 34th and Central as a place of worship, community, and service. Today, we remain committed to those same values, guided by Scripture and empowered by the Holy Spirit as we follow Christ together.

Founded in 1851, we are a congregation shaped by faith, anchored in historic Christian tradition, and committed to living out God’s love in our community. Grounded in worship, discipleship, and outreach, we honor our heritage while pressing forward in hope. We strive to serve our neighborhood, the city, and the world with compassion and integrity.

Our Mission

“Tabernacle Presbyterian Church is called by God, led by faith in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to demonstrate the Kingdom of God through worship, discipleship, and outreach. Honoring our heritage at 34th and Central, we will faithfully serve our community, city, and world in the present, and prepare expectantly for the future.”

This mission shapes everything we do. It calls us to live as a reflection of God’s love within our walls and far beyond them. Through gathered worship, lifelong learning, and tangible acts of service, we strive to be a church that brings hope to our neighborhood and healing to the world.

Our Vision

In 2016, Tab launched a prayerful Vision Renewal process to listen for God’s next steps for our community. After months of discernment, we adopted a vision shaped by three foundational commitments:

GREATER FAITH
We are a church where people are challenged to grow stronger in faith and equipped to live it out. Through thoughtful worship, intentional study, and shared prayer, we seek a faith that is active, deep, and transformative.

DEEPER RELATIONSHIPS
We strive to be a community where relationships matter—where differences are embraced, people are truly known, and love is expressed in action. Whether through small groups, shared meals, or service projects, we’re always looking for ways to connect more deeply with one another and with our neighbors.

A STRONGER COMMUNITY
We believe in the power of partnership and the pursuit of justice. Tab is committed to the flourishing of the Mapleton-Fall Creek neighborhood and beyond.

This vision urges us not to rest on what we’ve built but to expand our impact. We seek spiritual growth, rich connection, and renewed mission in this neighborhood and beyond. A decade later, these guiding principles continue to fuel our forward momentum.
