Tab Recreation

Empowering Youth through Faith and Sports

For over 100 years, Tab Recreation has been a place where faith and athletics come together to shape the next generation. Founded in 1924 as a ministry of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, Tab Rec has grown into one of Indianapolis’ most recognized youth sports programs—focused not just on developing athletes, but on nurturing strong character, deeper faith, and lasting relationships.

Rooted in our mission to empower youth by building relationships through sports, Tab Rec offers Christ-centered leagues that focus on prayer, mentorship, and spiritual growth. Whether it’s on the basketball court, soccer field, or football sideline, our coaches and chaplains are helping kids grow as teammates, leaders, and followers of Christ.

Our Vision in Action

Tab Recreation reflects the church’s broader vision: Greater Faith, Deeper Relationships, and a Stronger Community. We believe in creating a safe, encouraging environment where kids and families can connect, compete, and grow together—on and off the field.

A Legacy that Lasts

More than 100,000 youth have participated in Tab Rec over the years. We’re proud of our history, and even more excited for what’s ahead. From seasonal leagues to our Bud Harris College Scholarship program, we’re continuing to invest in the lives of young people and support them in every step of their journey.
