To Strive Backwards | Dr. Bill Smutz | June 22, 2025

Exodus 24:15-18 & 32:1-6 | Luke 9:57-62

How often do you look back—on your family stories, your faith journey, the choices you’ve made? The past can be a powerful teacher. But it can also become a place we hide, a weight we carry, or a script we’re afraid to rewrite.

As Dr. Bill Smutz shares this final message as Interim Senior Pastor of Tab, we explore the difference between honoring where we’ve come from and being bound by it. We consider how the past continues to shape us—sometimes in life-giving ways, and sometimes in ways that hold us back from stepping into what’s next. God often calls us forward through the very things we’re tempted to cling to. It’s a call to reflect, release, and trust that the One who brought us this far is not finished with us yet.
